  • The header links to https://donate.codeberg.org, which is not open-source.
  • Our homepage links to https://docs.codeberg.org/improving-codeberg/donate/, which is a different source and also clarifies supporting memberships.
    • The homepage actively encourages people to become active or supporting members first and above "Fund our project". The documentation link also provides the option for people to become supporting members.

As a "Codeberg internal", which option would you prefer to be more prominently promoted? Membership or donation?

  • Active memberships for active users (preferably those interested in having a stake of the platform).
  • Supporting memberships are also OK, but they add overhead (e.g. for insurances that count based on number members), so only if people are interested in supporting Codeberg and gaining a view backstage as to how it works. (I think)
  • Donations: Always.
