About yourself
Hello there! I'm Daniel, but everyone calls me Dani.
I've been working as a Machine learning/Backend engineer for the past 10 years. Most of my experience is in Python, but I did some backend development in Golang. I am actually quite interested in helping and learn something new, thus I would be happy to get my hands on some Golang, Rust, or Ruby codebase.
I've been lately using NixOS as my daily OS. Just saying, in case it is relevant for something. Furthermore, I used to have two Raspberry Pi running NixOS to serve my personal server. Previously, I used Docker with docker-compose for this.
Motivation
I just came back from a career break (currently looking for a job), and I want to try something new while engaging with the FOSS community. I think Codeberg might be the perfect place for it, and l will take a look at the different open issues over the next days.
To summarize:
Interests
Skills
Anyway, while you read this, if you think there is a place where I might fit in, let me know!
Interests
Quick checks
I tried to join Matrix using the Readme link, and it didn't work.
I think the Readme link needs to change from:
It's the first time I used matrix, so I'm not sure, but using the link I found in the contact page, I was able to join the Codeberg space.
Hey, sorry for the delay; is there any project that might be of interest to you that you might have noticed so far? (Forgejo, Pages Server, etc.) :)
Hey @n0toose, I looked into Forgejo, but I did not go further than just cloning the repo and running the unit tests. Actually, I would like to help with the new pages server if that is possible. I'm completely new to Rust, but happy to learn.
Alright, I'll assign @crapStone and ping @JulianGmp here. Thank you for your interest. :)
And also thank you for your contributions with fixing our docs, immensely appreciated ✌
@labellson I gave you access to the repo. Can you please join our development Matrix Room. There you can ask questions and we can help you learn Rust :).
Thank you so much @n0toose for your guidance. And thank you so much @crapStone for the repo access. I will say hello at Matrix and take a look at the repo as soon as I have some time.
Hello, I got a bit busy with other things in life. But I still want to contribute. I will try to do so before the end of the year.
Hey @labellson, take your time. We're not going anywhere for the foreseeable future and are ready when you are. :)
@labellson we are all volunteers and everyone is contributing in their own pace. Nobody is putting pressure on you 🙂
@n0toose @crapStone Thanks to both of you. I know there are no expectations. After opening this issue, I disappeared and i felt like ghosting. Just wanted to share codeberg still in my mind 😁
